Thai Foot massage?

I was at Menworth Hill on Friday evening at the Mind Body and Soul evening offering some very short taster sessions to some really amazing ladies.  It was lovely to meet you all.  If you didn’t get a taster session, then perhaps you want to find out a bit more. Thai Foot Massage is a deeply relaxing massage of the lower legs and feet, very similar to reflexology.  It involves hands on stretching and massage to “open” Sen (energy) Lines, along with the use of a stick to stimulate the reflex points on the feet which correspond to the internal organs of the body. Thai Foot Massage stimulates these points to promote general health and wellbeing.

 

A Treatment of Thai Foot Massage will usually last for one hour and costs £25.

 

Thai Foot Massage takes its origins from China, where the art of foot massage has been practiced for over 5000 years. Chinese, Japanese, and Korean foot masseuses have developed Thai Foot Massage further, and it is seen everywhere in Thailand today.

What to expect from your Thai Foot Massage treatment?

 

During your treatment, a brief consultation will be undertaken to determine which issues or symptoms which need to be addressed.

Once the key areas have been identified, you will be encouraged to sit back and relax whilst listening to soothing, calming and relaxing music.

 

During the hour of treatment both feet are stretched and rocked from side to side to gently loosen the ankle ligaments. One foot is wrapped (this keeps the foot warm) while the other is treated.  This process is repeated on both sides.

Using pressure that is acceptable, the foot is massaged, stretched and stimulated using the Thai Foot Massage Stick, various pressure points are pressed and or rubbed and this stimulates healing internally.

The leg muscle is stretched and using effleurage motion the muscle is fanned to release toxins and encourage drainage of the lymphatic system.  Different pressure points are massaged to assist with aches in the legs and lower back.

I like to add an essential oil and I choose this depending on what you require.  All my essential oils are from Do-Terra so the benefits are amazing. The oils is applied, the feet are then massaged again, patted and held, rocked side to side and stretched. This stimulates the feet further, feels amazing and ends the session.
