Calm Pregnancy,

Joy in Birthing.

Wellness during pregnancy, Welcome your baby, Birth with Joy and Ease

A combination of Physical Therapies, Pressure Point Therapy, Reflexology and Acupressure Massage in combination with Clinical Hypnotherapy provide powerful therapy to over-come morning sickness. Morning sickness is often nonstop feelings of nausea, low energy, dizziness and vomiting. with Pressure Point Therapies your body is brought back into balance and in combination with Hypnotherapy I aim to reframe the effect smells and flavours have on you.  This is also an empowering process.  You gain the ability to feel in control, relaxed, have positive feelings of energy and get your cravings for healthy nutritious food back.

The first step of any massage but especially a prenatal massage is to get comfortable. The vena cava is a large blood vessel to your heart, which lies along on the back wall of your abdomen, next to your spine. So, for some lying on your side in the later stages of pregnancy is more comfortable, both when you sleep, and when you have a massage.
I use wonderfully comfortable massage cushions.  A large block of firm foam, to support your bump and large bolsters to support your body so you can fully relax.
I tend to use a variety of Swedish massage techniques.  Some gentle and some firm depending on your preference, gliding strokes and gentle kneading designed to improve your blood and lymphatic circulation, soothe your muscles and make you more relaxed. I also incorporate Acupressure techniques to stimulate key pressure points to help your physical, mental and hormonal balance I may also include some head and foot reflex points that help to reduce fatigue, nausea and oedema. Sessions are tailored to you needs.
As a hypnotherapist, hypnobirthing teacher advanced reflexologist and over 20 years of experience working as a massage therapist I may include some useful advice in your treatment time. Tips for better posture, or tips for getting through your birthing experience more comfortably. I am also able to show you and your partner some really powerful basic massage techniques you can use during birthing to help you relax and keep things flowing.
It is worth remembering that most massage treatments with me take about an hour with about 30 minutes set aside to have a good chat and ensure I am offering you the safest and most suitable therapies.

Back pain due to a growing uterus is one of the most common complaints during pregnancy. While traditional massage is ideal to alleviate this pain, chair massage can also do the trick.that will surely help to heal you both mentally and physically.

Therapeutic massage has been used for centuries to improve overall health, reduce stress, and relieve muscle aches and tension.

The placement of the warm-water cushions is designed to give your back perfect spinal alignment; your knees are slightly raised and your hands rest below the pads to encourage your body to relax.

Thanks to the heat from the pads (30-40 degrees), a hydrotherm massage can be beneficial if you suffer from neck pain, lower-back aches or stiff muscles.

The heat helps warm your muscles up, which makes massage movements more effective.

Hydrotherm is a very soothing and deeply therapeutic form of massage. Lying on the water cushions feels as though you are floating in the water whilst receiving a deeply relaxing massage.

Joy in Birthing group classes run monthly. They are an interesting mix of background information and theory together with plenty of relaxation and practical work. There are 3 parts to the course.  Module 1. 'Joy in Birthing' its focus is on hypnobirthing, releasing fear about childbirth or parenting, learning powerful pain management techniques as well as beautiful guided visualizations, self-hypnosis, and breathwork.  Many couples can be quite skeptical at the start of the course and doubt that it may be possible for them to give birth with little or even no pain, shorten the birth and enjoy the experience.  However, by the end of the course, they feel excited and confident and really look forward to the big day!  Module 2 is my 'Joyful Birth Coaching' module where your birthing partner learns how to support you in very practical ways.  Massage, Hypnosis, and birthing positions are just some of the topics covered. By the end of this module, your birthing partner will feel ready to support you and excited about their involvement.  Module 3, 'A Joyful Induction' helps you to learn all about any potential medical interventions that may occur.  It focuses on powerful techniques that will help you birth your baby with Joy and Ease no matter how they come into the world.

Expectant Couple

Self-hypnosis and deep relaxation are very effective tools.  These powerful tools and skills can be learned in a group or one to one. They can be learned gradually in stages and practiced in between sessions. One to one sessions ensures that you have the time to develop the conditioned responses that make Hypnobirthing so successful. My one to one course runs over 5 sessions and covers all of the Joy in Birthing Modules.  This course also allows the time to explore your feelings, relax just you and your partner, resolve and release any anxieties that may arise. I like to work with you personally and to follow your progress so that I can ensure that you are fully ready, relaxed and confident as you approach the birth of your baby.

Parents, midwives, and doctors are constantly amazed by the wonderful births experienced through Hypnobirthing and with Joy in Birthing one to one sessions you will be fully prepared for your beautiful birth.
