Post Natal and Baby

Postnatal Massage

After the birth, it is a really good idea to help your body and have a massage to help close the bones back to their normal pre-pregnancy place.

Mum's often suffer from pelvic instability which can be uncomfortable and even painful.

Ideally, all new mothers would benefit from massage as soon after birth as possible, to help the muscles release the muscle memory of birth, gently healing and helping with spinal realignment.

Story Massage

Story Massage combines the benefits of a positive, nurturing touch with the fun and creativity of storytelling. It involves a programme of ten simple massage strokes

One of the joys of Story Massage is that it is can be used in so many different situations. It is a fun and inclusive activity that can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime, with anyone! Massage oil is not normally used so no clothes are removed. And movements and stories can be easily adapted to suit the individual needs of children of varying ages, abilities, personalities and temperaments.

Story Massage is now available at Kidzplay for active babies about 7 months and up.

Baby massage promotes and supports the life-long bond between parent and baby.

In India, the art of baby massage has been passed through the generations from mother to daughter for hundreds of years. Now widely practiced

around the world, baby massage is recognized as extremely beneficial for babies’ growth and development.

Touch is a baby’s first sense to develop in the womb and it remains the most developed sense at birth. Positive nurturing and your loving touch is a wonderful way for you and your baby to feel calm comforted and connected.

Baby Massage is a great opportunity for you and your child to socialise with other parents and children and offers one to one time between baby

and their parent allowing communication (both verbal and non-verbal) so baby feels loved, valued and respected.

Both research and anecdotal evidence from families have shown that there are many ways that babies and families may benefit from infant
