About the Event

Nurture Your Joy Retreat Day for Women.

We all have so many responsibilities in life that we often forget to take care of our personal needs.

This is particularly true for women, who have many care-giving responsibilities. It’s often hard to even prioritize something like taking a bath when you have so many other items on your to-do list, self-care, sadly, tends to be at the bottom of the to do list.

Nurture your Joy retreats aim to give you space just for you to, rest, recharge, restore and re-balance. Our November retreat day will help you to nurture yourself and feel re-energized and more joyful as winter unfolds. Our retreat is in the beautiful surroundings of Well House Yoga Space in the heart of North Yorkshire.

As winter approaches its essential, we put our well-being first so that we can be who we are meant to be in the most effective way.

Our day begins at 10 am with a warming and welcoming Cacao Ceremony.

Cacao is associated with Love and why we give chocolate to the people we love and what better way to start our day.

This chocolate lover’s self-love focused cacao ceremony is an opportunity to connect to yourself, open your heart and release those feel good emotions. Because of cacao’s ability to increase our connection to the inner self and the heart chakra, it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards, whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release old patterns and traumas, or move into a more self-confident space. Whatever your path, the intention is yours to set, the cacao gives you insight and awareness to move towards that goal.

After our opening ceremony we invite you to join us in gentle and nurturing yoga class with Chrissy Chelinski, so please come in loose relaxed clothing.

Chrissy has over 20 years of yoga teaching experience and her classes are a blend of elements from Qi gong, Mindfulness and her own Buddhist practice with Dru Yoga, often called a yoga of the heart with many of its postures and sequences stimulating the energy pathways around the heart centre so that our bodies and minds are strengthened.

Food is a great way to share, chat and connect, for lunch we request that you bring a dish to share. Think of your grandmother’s recipes, or perhaps an old favourite. Food is a connection to somewhere else, a family bond, a connection to childhood or traditional ways. Sharing food is not just caring about one another, but it’s about heritage being shared between people. This will be a meat free event so please bear that in mind when bringing your dish to share.

There’s just something wonderful about making homemade products that are safe, natural, and effective. That is why after lunch we will be introducing you to some amazing essential oils. We will show you how to make your own products that will support your wellbeing through the winter months. You’ll select your own bespoke blend of essential oils and you’ll keep your aromatherapy gifts.

Ending the day at 4 pm after a deep relaxation meditation session that will help you to find and connect with your inner sanctuary. The practise of sanctuary meditation helps you to create a peaceful sanctuary in your mind, where you can go anytime you need to relax, let go, solve a problem, achieve a goal, find inspiration, accelerate your learning, or improve your memory. Other benefits from being able to return to your Peaceful Sanctuary anytime you wish include remaining calm when there is conflict in your life, quickening the healing of physical and emotional pain, and increasing your self-confidence. Your Peaceful Sanctuary is your own private special place, which is sacred to you. You create it the way you want it to be so that it becomes a shelter for you to seek solutions to your everyday life

You are invited to our Nurture Your Joy Retreat day on the 2nd of November at Well House Yoga Space.

Well house is a beautiful custom-built yoga space 7 miles from Harrogate and 16 miles from Skipton just off the A59 in a quiet location surrounded by amazing countryside. The full day is just £45 if you’d like to add a massage to your day you can its just an additional £30 for a 45-minute treatment, please see our treatment menu below. Reflexology .

Reflexology uses a combination of the ancient art of Thai reflexology, Traditional Chinese Acupressure massage in combination with modern day Zone therapy to provide the ultimate enjoyable, relaxing, and rejuvenating experience that heals the mind, body, and soul.

During your session differing pressures are applied to specific areas of the feet. We use different stretches to loosen tension, in turn, a reflex reaction occurs in the body bringing back balance.

Basalt and Himalayan Rock Hot stone massage .

Hot stone massage is a specialty full body massage where we use smooth, heated stones as an extension of our hands.

Beginning with our basalt hot stones to deeply relax muscle tension. We place the heated rocks on your body or use them to loosen tension you’ll find that the heat can be both deeply relaxing and quickly warms up tight muscles so that deeper work can be done to loosen tension that has been there for long periods. The heat enables us to work more deeply, more effectively and more quickly. Our Himalayan salt massage rocks are then used. These special rocks help to reduce inflammation and feel deeply soothing. There are more than 80 trace minerals in the rocks that are absorbed by your body during a hot Himalayan stone massage these helps replenish lost minerals in your body. They are also naturally antimicrobial and help to detox and nourish your skin. Your skin will feel refreshed and exfoliated. Turn off stress and turn on the relaxation state of being.

Holistic Massage .

Holistic massage is a form of healing that treats the whole person, body, mind, spirit and emotions.

In the quest for equilibrium for health and wellness our holistic massage is specifically bespoke to each client. We draw on our range of specialist knowledge to provide you with a nurturing and intuitive style of massage, just the tonic you need to bring you back into balance on all levels.

Beautiful blends of essential oils are used in combination with trigger point therapy, fascia work and chakra balancing from healing hands. We aim to soothe, unwind and awaken your well-being and senses.

Reiki .

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
